| description: | In the near future, personal computers take the form of attractive women, called Persocons. Hideki Motosuwa is a poor student who failed his entrance exams to get into college. So, Hideki is forced to move to the city, get a job, and attend cram school in hopes of passing the next college entrance exam. He of course wants a Persocon for himself, but is way too poor to afford one. One day, while passing a building, he finds a Persocon in a trash heap. However, his new find doesn`t seem to be like the others he`s heard about. She doesn`t seem to have any operating system at all, and only says "Chii". As Hideki learns more about his Persocon (aptly named "Chii"), he finds out that she is not of any known type, and most likely some sort of homemade model. He also learns of the rumor of the "Chobits", Persocons with the ability to think for themselves, instead of running only complex programs. Find out what happens between Hideki and his new Persocon, as she learns more about her environment, people, and life. | |
queendarcy says: So far this has to be my favorite. Just about every ep made me laugh, toward the end had me laughing and crying. The story is great, and original. The charecters all have issues that are dealt with to make them more human. The ending is good as well. Overall this is a great anime, and well worth your time to watch. It may be considered a girl anime, but you guys should enjoy it to.
swirly says: I consider this one of the classic animes. Its one that every anime fan should see at least once. It is a bit of a girl anime in that its a love story, but there should be enough fun in it that the guys won't mind too much.
This anime is so popular, that many newer animes take things from it. Its almost the basis for a genre. There might have been a few times while watching it that I thought it was a little slow, but overall it is quite an enjoyable watch. Another important thing to note is that you leave it feeling full. So many animes leave you kind of feeling empty or wanting more. Chobits doesn't do that. You watch it and when its over you feel like it is complete. So yeah...watch this anime!
